7 WAYS TO PERSIST WHEN EVERYTHING IN YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING UP.

Here are the seven things that help me keep going each day, when everything in me want to quit. If you find yourself in a situation where you want to give up, these lessons can help you, too. 1. Ignore everyone else. As you  work towards your dream it can be easy to get distracted when you see others achieving their goals easier, faster, better than you. It can make you feel inadequate and unsatisfied with your own progress. But when it comes to conquering a goal, what’s happening with others is irrelevant when it detracts from your ability to move forward.  When tackling a difficult task, you need every ounce of energy you can muster . make sure you will channel it to a place that will propel you forward 2. Become your own biggest supporter. Although it can be energizing to have others around to motivate and encourage you, having them there is a luxury, not a requirement. That lesson allowed me to turn inward and find in myself the strength and determination to keep...

THE STORY CONTINUES

Image
Well the following day i work up and found that the whole story had changed and i was actually been blamed for her death..even the cousin who was with me that particular night changed the story too and said that i was the one who had actually come with the milk and gave it to my loving grandma..i was only nine years old and i did not know how to defend myself or who would actually believe me if i told them that i did not have any money to purchase a packet of milk??Even those who knew how much i loved my grandma all of them started judging me but what did not make sense to me is why if they believed that i had killed her why not report it to the police??They rubbed it in my face every other day after that to a point that i actually started believing it myself..i always had nightmares until recently that's when they stopped and i came to a realization that this people only wanted someone to blame for their doings and i guess i was the perfect candidate for it all. There are so ...

MY CHILDHOOD WITH GRANDMA

Image
Most people have very amazing childhood stories and memories but for me i only have one fantastic  childhood memory with my grandmother and my two brothers.....why do i talk about my grandma?? And not my mom or dad?? well thats beccause she was both my mom and dad.. this woman taught me how to love, how to be strong, humble, kind, hardworking and most of all how to persevere even when things are hard. she is the only person whom i truly loved and enjoyed their company..my world and happy childhood memories all disappeared when my shush died..she fell sick and i felt that it was my obligation to take good care of her..we shared so many memories together  and she was everything to me even up to her death bed grandma called me to spent time with her we even slept in the same bed not as if everyone did not have their bed but because we felt protected in each others presence. we were having our usual evening conversation on this particular night when Mr T( grandmas son)...

WHATS NEXT AFTER FORM FOUR

I read somewhere that the 3rd week of January is where most suicides kick in, so let me try and engage those still struggling with their exam results before we get there. For those who passed, well done. You are future doctors, lawyers, architects, surgeons, rocket scientists etc. All those jobs require a certain skill set that only a good education – And intellect - brings. Embrace this moment and enjoy it. For those who did not fare so well, don’t despair. I have always said to my daughter: Work hard, put in your best effort but never let a piece of paper (or grade) define who you are. She always passes well – And I don’t underrate that - But I also encourage her to look beyond that. It’s very important because an A is not a guarantee of a great future. If we pull out the newspapers of the past, where are most of those featured kids today? Granted a D or E is not ideal. But your skill set may be different. Perhaps you're meant to be a singer. An actress. An artist. An athlete....

A GOOD GRADE WILL TAKE YOU TO UNIVERSITY BUT A GOOD CHARACTER WILL KEEP YOU THERE

Image
NTV anchor and show host Larry Madowo has revealed what he scored in the Kenya Ceritificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination. Madowo said that he performed 'poorly' in the national exams prompting his relatives to demand that he repeats Form Four. “I left high school with a B minus, the final sentence after four years of massive potential but hardly any focus,” Madowo stated. The journalist noted that he was opposed to the idea of repeating the class and rebelliously went against his relatives' wishes. “That was never going to happen as I had already developed a healthy disdain for academics in general, and its most favoured method of torture in particular – examinations,” he wrote in his FrontRow column on the Daily Nation. In his article titled 'So you got an A in KCSE? Big deal! It has lost meaning today', Madowo penned down how the most coveted top grade had become meaningless following the widespread cheating in the national examinations....

MEET JIM ROHN AND BE INSPIRED

Image
Everyone, and especially entrepreneurs working to build a business from the ground up, enjoys a solid rags-to-riches story. It’s something we can relate to and get behind. One of the greatest rags-to-riches stories is that of Jim Rohn. Jim spent his entire adult life giving back to humanity by teaching and lecturing about how to gain success in selling. He tried to teach people that they could be whatever they chose to be. Jim was an only child who grew up on a little farm in southwest Idaho, U.S.A., to become what many consider to be America's foremost business philosopher. Rohn began his career as stock clerk for Sears, but after attending a lecture given by entrepreneur John Earl Shoaff, he decided to follow a different path. He asked Shoaff to be his mentor and followed every bit of advice he could glean from him. Rohn became a direct marketing distributor. Within just six years, Rohn earned his first fortune, then lost the millions he had made. That led him to observe, ...

THE MOST DIFFICULT TIME FOR ANY MAN OR WOMAN

The most difficult time for any man is probably between age 24 and 29 years, the pressure to be something and someone is so immense. When you look around you, everyon e seems to be doing something for themselves, people seem to be living a life you only dream of. you have applied for jobs and the results have been more disapointing than Besigyes shot at presidency. Sadly this is the age when most guys lose it,the age if not careful, one is consumed by alcohol and drugs………because the disappointments become too much and you find alternative ways to face reality. Worse is when a few people you studied with have beeen lucky enough to land jobs, soon your circle of friends grows thinner mostly they dont even cut you out but you be real with yourself and cut yourself out.I mean, what will you do when in a whatsapp group of friends discussing last week’s trip to zanzibar and planning another road trip to kigali while you’re not sure of what your next meal would be? most t...
